I tested this tyre over 7 weeks.
At first viewing the Maxxis Re-Fuse looks like a cross between the Vittoria CX and the Bontrager Hardcase tyres - tough looking body with a fast looking tread pattern, lets check it out and see how it performs.
Being kevlar beaded, the re-fuse squeezed onto even the most difficult rims relatively easily. It is often cold and wet in Gippsland. This makes the best testing ground for testing all tyres and tubes as the roads are certainly not like the silk roads of beach road. Many major tyre brands fail here, often. But not the Maxxis Re-Fuse. This is the bigger, more puncture resistant brother Maxxis Fuse tyre - already well known by all those who do the big k's.
The Maxxis Re-Fuse tyre showed fantastic qualities cornering in both the wet and dry. The simple dimple tread doesn't just inspire confidence, it actually holds on extremely well. The extra rubber in the centre of the tyre and the double layering of puncture resistance ensured a puncture free period for the testing of this tyre.
This tyre is great value for money, sure it retails more than many others but it will out last those tyres in milage by a county mile. Colors you ask? Of course, all black is great but there is also red, blue or yellow tread patterns.
This is a no brainer for reliability and rideability - best training tyre on the market to date.
